2022 HPDE / Drivers Training Instructor’s Seminar

Please join us for the 2022 Cascade Sports Car Club (CSCC) HPDE Instructor’s Seminar. This will be an important event to attend to maintain the quality of our driver training events. Unlike previous years, we will be holding this event virtually via Zoom, with a separate track walk at Portland International Raceway (PIR). Brett McKown, the CSCC Chief Driving Instructor (CDI) and Driver's Training Chairperson, will be holding the classroom portion of the event via Zoom on the evening of Friday, March 11, starting at 7pm. We will cover some basic overview material about how our HPDE program is structured and then have an open discussion where everyone shares their best methods for dealing with several common situations (difficult students, too timid/aggressive, etc.). 

We will then reconvene at PIR on Saturday, March 12, for the instructor's track walk from 1 to 4pm. This is a significant pre-season preparation event where all CSCC instructor's review and agree upon the various cone placements (turn-in, apex, exit point) for each turn. This established the common line that all CSCC instructor's must teach to our HPDE participants. We want all instructors teaching the same “school” line, so please plan to be there!

This event is open to everyone that is intended on continuing as a CSCC HPDE instructor or for those that are interested to joining us as an instructor in 2022. You do not have to be an existing HPDE instructor nor do you need to be a CSCC member to attend.
